4 dead, over 40 injured after bus falls into gorge in Maharashtra’s Amravati

In a tragic accident in Maharashtra’s Amravati district, four people lost their lives and more than 40 passengers sustained serious injuries when a bus travelling from Amravati to Khandwa veered off course and plunged 60-70 feet into a deep gorge.
The bus, carrying approximately 50-55 passengers, met with disaster when the driver lost control. Local residents, along with assistance from the Chikhaldara Police, immediately responded, helping rush the injured to hospitals in Paratwada and Amravati. Authorities fear the death toll could rise.

“The rescue operation was swift, but the number of critical injuries raises concerns,” a police spokesperson said.
Emergency teams are continuing efforts at the accident site as investigations proceed into the cause of the crash.
